Corduro, a new mobile payments startup, is promising retailers it can offer transaction fees up to 30 percent less than what they currently are paying to sue other systems such as Square. Corduro said it charges 2.65 percent on swiped transactions conducted by mobile phones and 1.9 percent plus 20 cents for swiped transactions in store, less than what Square and others charge on transactions.
